Carolyn Campo, MA, RPSGT, RRT
Carolyn obtained her Master of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Health Psychology from National-Louis University in Chicago, Illinois. Her background in health began with obtaining her credentialing (Registered Respiratory Therapist) and work in the field of Respiratory Care both in the acute and sub-acute care domains. She is also a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist and has managed several sleep centers. Carolyn’s educational background includes over eight years of teaching experience in both the private sector and the state college system.

Mark R. Ippolito, M.D. Board Certified- American Board of Sleep Medicine
Dr. Ippolito received his MD from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He completed his residency at the Department of Neurology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, along with a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and an internship in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He is boarded in Psychiatry and Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Ippolito has directed sleep medicine centers in our North Carolina area with Northeast Medical Center in Concord and W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Traditional Courses
|
|
A-STEP Fundamental Course This course consists of 80 hours of didactic training recommended by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The participant can elect to add a one month clinical rotation for an additional fee. The attendee will learn the essentials necessary to promote an understanding of the basic principles of polysomnography, sleep disorders and the role of the sleep technician. Attendees who successfully complete the course proceed to begin the AASM A-STEP Self-Study Modules. Jan. 8-25 / Apr. 15-May 2 / July 8-25 / Oct. 14-31
2 day Board Prep Course This two-day widespread review course is intended to offer the attendee a comprehensive understanding of the BRPT examination content. The course will provide insight into exam structure, content material and techniques to successfully navigate the Polysomnographic Technologist Board Exam. Feb. 4-5 / May 5-6 / Aug. 4-5 / Nov. 3-4
2 day Scoring Course This two-day course contains an updated review of AASM scoring of sleep and associated events. This includes sleep staging guidelines, respiratory, EEG arousals and PLM event rules. The attendees will spend a complete day applying the learned rules as they practice scoring a polysomnogram with feedback provided by educator. Feb. 19-20 / May 22-23* / Aug. 20-21 / Nov. 18-19
PAP Titration Course During this one-day course, attendees will learn the application of PAP therapy based on both didactic instruction and case studies. The course will consist of education on CPAP, Bi-Level and split-night studies, demonstrating how to adequately titrate pressures, while taking into consideration diverse disease processes. Advanced Concepts This course is designed for the RPSGT ready for an update on pathophysiology, technology, legislation and a glimpse of the direction our profession is headed. March 20th / September 29

From Providence Road: coming from uptown vicinity (going south) towards Waxhaw. Turn RIGHT onto PINEVILLE-MATTHEWS Rd./Hwy. 51, headed towards Pineville. Go through 6 streetlights. Turn RIGHT onto Bannington Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Shannon Willow Rd. Go to the end of street and turn LEFT into the parking lot.
From Carmel Rd: off of Fairview Rd. Go about 4.5 miles on Carmel Rd to the intersection of Pineville-Matthews Rd/Hwy. 51. Turn LEFT onto Pineville-Matthews Rd. After the fire station on the left and the emergency light, turn LEFT onto Bannington Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Shannon Willow Rd. Go to the end of street and turn LEFT into the parking lot.
From I-77: exit onto I-485 East toward Pineville. Exit onto Pineville-Matthews Rd/NC-51 North via exit 64-A toward Matthews. Continue on Pineville/Matthews Rd/Hwy. 51 for about 2.5 miles. Cross the intersection of Carmel Rd. After the fire station on the left and the emergency light, turn LEFT onto Bannington Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Shannon Willow Rd. Go to the end of street and turn LEFT into the parking lot. From Monroe: going west on Hwy. 74 towards Charlotte, exit onto I-485 Columbia/ Greensboro, then exit LEFT I-485 South Inner Columbia going towards Pineville. Go about 8.5 miles and exit 61-A Johnston Rd, go RIGHT off exit onto Johnston Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Carmel Rd. Turn Right onto Pineville/Matthews Rd/Hwy. After the fire station on the left and the emergency light, turn LEFT onto Bannington Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Shannon Willow Rd. Go to the end of street and turn LEFT into the parking lot.
